Will I need planning permission?No, you probably wont need planning permission. The same rules apply as for any other ground floor extension, conservatory or garden room. Your local glassbox™ authorised dealer should be able to advise you when they asses your property. The latest planning regulations are available from The Planning Portal, the UK Government's online planning and building regulations resource www.planningportal.gov.uk.
Do contemporary home extensions from glassbox™ need building regulation approval?Yes. A glassbox™, due to it’s design and thermal performance, is not exempt from Building regulations like many standard conservatories. However, we are currently in the process of obtaining a ‘passport’ which will allow standard details to be submitted to and approved by, any council in the country. This ‘passport’ ensures peace of mind and demonstrates that your contemporary home extension is safe and meets all the same government standards as a new house would.
How much do contemporary home extensions from glassbox™ cost?Prices for our contemporary home extensions start at around £18k + VAT fully fitted including groundworks and increase in price according to the size and the specifications you choose.
